Williams and El Capitan are an even 4-4 against one another since January of 2016, but not for long. The Vikings will head out to square off against the Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. Williams knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past eight contests -- so hopefully El Capitan likes a good challenge.
On Thursday, Williams beat Ash Fork 66-54. The Vikings haven't had any issues with the Spartans recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Williams' success was spearheaded by the efforts of Josh Rue-Wilbur, who shot 47% from the field on his way to 18 points in addition to seven boards and five assists, and Cade Trimble, who went 8-for-13 to rack up 17 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Trimble is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 47% in the last eight games he's played. Rocque Montoya also deserves some recognition as he scored his first points of the season.
They weren't the only ones working in the assist department: Williams was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. They are 14-5 when they've passed the ball that well.
Meanwhile, El Capitan got the win against Red Mesa on Thursday by a conclusive 69-45.
El Capitan's win came from a few key players that Williams will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Brayden Hammon, who almost dropped a triple-double with 13 points, nine boards, and nine assists. Those nine assists gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kendall Hammon, who posted 15 points in addition to seven rebounds and six steals.
Williams' record is now 15-7. As for El Capitan, their record now sits at 10-12.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Williams has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 31.9 boards per game. However, it's not like El Capitan struggles in that department as they've been averaging 29.8 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Williams ended up a good deal behind El Capitan in their previous meeting back in December of 2021, losing 65-46. Can the Vikings avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
