The Poudre Impalas will venture away from home to take on the ThunderRidge Grizzlies at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Poudre has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
Last Thursday, Poudre beat Fort Collins 53-46. That's two games straight that the Impalas have won by exactly seven points.

Poudre relied on the efforts of Jaqueline Forrest, who en route to 18 points and seven boards, and Kavi Voglund, who to rack up 19 points and seven rebounds. What's more, Forrest also posted a 54% shooting accuracy, which is the highest she's achieved since back in February of 2024. Elli Beauprez was another key player, putting up six points and ten boards.
Meanwhile, ThunderRidge came up short against Highlands Ranch on Friday and fell 50-39. While losing is never fun, the Grizzlies can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 65th, while the Falcons are ranked fifth).
Poudre will need to focus on slowing down Claire Wilson, one of several ThunderRidge players who made an impact when they last played. She posted eight points and five rebounds. Wilson is also on a roll when it comes to three-point shooting accuracy, as she's posted one of at least 50% in the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Candace 'Cc' Baker, who earned 12 points and five boards.
Poudre pushed their record up to 10-13 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.3 points over those games. As for ThunderRidge, they now have a losing record of 11-12.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Poudre has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 28.6 rebounds per game. However, it's not like ThunderRidge struggles in that department as they've been averaging 27 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Poudre lost to ThunderRidge on the road by a decisive 43-29 margin in their previous meeting back in January of 2016. Can Poudre avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
