The Dodgeville Dodgers will head out on the road to take on the Iowa-Grant Panthers at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Dodgeville is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last four games.
On Thursday, Dodgeville beat Platteville 6-2.
Ava Lord spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on three hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Kayla Brom was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run and two runs. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Rylee Forsyth was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Dodgeville kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Platteville only managed three hits.
Meanwhile, Iowa-Grant unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Thursday. They came up short against Cuba City, falling 10-2. Having soared to a lofty 13 runs in the game before, the Panthers couldn't push the score so high this time.
Iowa-Grant saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lakyn Holman, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double.
Iowa-Grant's loss dropped their record down to 11-6. As for Dodgeville, their record is now 12-5.
Friday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Dodgeville hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .328. However, it's not like Iowa-Grant struggles in that department as they've averaged .329. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Dodgeville couldn't quite finish off Iowa-Grant in their previous meeting back in March of 2024 and fell 7-5. Can the Dodgers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
