Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Thursday's matchup: Mica Mountain has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 6.4 aces per game. However, it's not like Salpointe Catholic struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.6 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Mica Mountain might still be hurting after the 3-0 loss they got from Salpointe Catholic in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Thankfully for the Thunderbolts, Matthew Tejeda (who had 18 digs and two aces) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
