Swain County is 2-8 against Robbinsville since November of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Maroon Devils are taking a road trip to challenge the Black Knights at 7:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Swain County had to skate by with only a two-point margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 55-point drubbing they dealt Andrews last Friday. The Maroon Devils blew past the Wildcats, posting a 55-0 win. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Maroon Devils' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 175th, while the Wildcats are ranked 402nd).

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Swain County was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 358 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 195 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Robbinsville). They breezed past Andrews to the tune of 56-0 on Friday. The victory continues a trend for the Black Knights in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now won three in a row.
Swain County better keep an eye on Luke Lovin. He was instrumental in Robbinsville's win, rushing for 34 yards and one score, while also throwing for 56 yards and one touchdown. Cameron Allison got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Robbinsville didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Allison and Elijah Kirkland. Allison got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Friday's game might be decided on the ground. Swain County has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 244 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Robbinsville struggles in that department as they've been averaging 227 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's contest turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Swain County lost to Robbinsville on the road by a decisive 17-0 margin in their previous matchup back in November of 2024. Can the Maroon Devils avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
