Wise and Eleanor Roosevelt are an even 5-5 against one another since March of 2019, but not for long. The Wise Pumas will look to defend their home court on Thursday against the Eleanor Roosevelt Raiders at 7:15 p.m. Wise knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past 14 contests -- so hopefully Eleanor Roosevelt likes a good challenge.
Wise put the finishing touches on their seventh blowout victory of the season on Tuesday. They blew past Suitland 92-68. Given Wise's advantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 48th, while Suitland is ranked 229th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Jamal Drummond continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 6 for 10 from beyond the arc en route to 23 points and 0 assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Justin Ware was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with eight assists and four steals.
Meanwhile, Eleanor Roosevelt unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Thursday. They took a 63-56 hit to the loss column at the hands of Bowie. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Wise has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-3 record this season. As for Eleanor Roosevelt, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-11.
Wise beat Eleanor Roosevelt 77-68 in their previous meeting back in January. Will Wise repeat their success, or does Eleanor Roosevelt have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
