Softball Game Preview: Timberline Blazers vs. North Thurston Rams

Timberline is 8-2 against North Thurston since May of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Blazers will be playing at home against the Rams at 4:00 p.m. Timberline is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 14.4 runs per game this season.

Timberline is headed into the contest having just suffered their biggest loss since March 25, 2024 on Monday. They lost 12-2 to Sumner. Perhaps unsurprisingly, the Blazers' biggest loss of the season was also their lowest-scoring.

Timberline saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Porsha Miller, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Meanwhile, North Thurston didn't have quite enough to beat Silas on Monday and fell 11-10. That's two games in a row now that North Thurston has lost by just one run.

Ellie Hovde made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 3-for-3. Sara Halterman was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.

This is the second loss in a row for Timberline and nudges their season record down to 7-2. As for North Thurston, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season.

Tuesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Timberline hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .422. However, it's not like North Thurston struggles in that department as they've averaged .329. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.

Everything went Timberline's way against North Thurston in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, as Timberline made off with a 17-0 victory. Will the Blazers repeat their success, or do the Rams have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
