Logan Ginter Has Career Rushing Day
Starting off the list is Clear Creek's Logan Ginter, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. On Thursday Ginter picked up a sack, made five total tackles (2.0 for loss), and defended a pass, good enough to also set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. He showed off some serious burst, cutting through the defense on one rush that went for 69 yards.
The win (which was Clear Creek's third in a row) raised their record to 5-2. Ginter and Clear Creek will take on Justice at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Drew Starkey Turns in Season-Best Effort
On Friday, Gilpin County got the W thanks in part to Drew Starkey playing the best football he has all season. Starkey rushed for 284 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 11.4 yards per carry, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process.
This season, Starkey has averaged 19 passing yards per game.

Justin Johnson Delivers Best Performance of Season
On Friday, Gilpin County got the W thanks in part to Justin Johnson playing the best football he has all season. Johnson rushed for 103 yards and a touchdown. He really tore up the turf during one magnificent 70-yard run.
For the season, Johnson has run in 2 touchdowns while averaging 27.3 rushing yards per game.

Ryan Reyes Sets Career High in Rushing Yards
Ryan Reyes posted a new career-high in rushing yards on Friday. He made 11 total tackles. He showed off some serious burst, cutting through the defense on one rush that went for 62 yards.
Gilpin County's probably not too fond of Reyes given he always seems to get the better of them. When Reyes last faced the Eagles back in October of 2023, he picked up 1.5 sacks, made 23 total tackles, and defended a pass.

On Saturday, Front Range Christian got the W thanks in part to Luke Jerome playing the best football he has all season. Jerome rushed for 101 yards and a touchdown on only 14 carries, and also threw for 73 yards and two touchdowns, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process.
If the past is any indication, Jerome could be in store for another big game when he takes on Belleview Christian on Friday. Back in October of 2023 (the last time Jerome saw the Bruins), he picked up 58 receiving yards and two touchdowns, and also rushed for 30 yards.
