The Eastlake Wolves will square off against the Liberty Patriots at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Eastlake is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.6 runs per game this season.
On Wednesday, Eastlake came up short against Redmond and fell 8-5. The loss continues a trend for the Wolves in their meetings with the Mustangs: they've now lost three in a row.
Eastlake saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Macie Parthemer, who went 1-for-4 with three RBI and one double.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Liberty, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They put the hurt on Lake Washington with a sharp 10-2 victory on Wednesday. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Patriots' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.
Avery Huh made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and only one walk). Huh was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
In other batting news, Liberty let Emi Connell and Kaila Siu run wild. Connell went 1-for-3 with one home run and four RBI, while Siu went 1-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI Connell has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Isabella Rockey, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.
Eastlake's defeat dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Liberty, their win bumped their record up to 9-7.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Friday. Eastlake hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.8 home runs per game. However, it's not like Liberty struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.9 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Eastlake couldn't quite finish off Liberty in their previous meeting back in March and fell 7-5. Will the Wolves have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more softball content.
