The Moffat County Bulldogs won the last time they faced the Basalt Longhorns, and things went their way on Tuesday too. Moffat County came out on top against the Longhorns by a score of 51-39. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Moffat County.
It was another big night for Ian Champ hafey, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 12 rebounds. He is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down 12 or more in the last four games he's played. Alejandro Tarango was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with two blocks.
Despite the defeat, Basalt had strong showings from Wyatt Loomis, who scored 17 points along with three steals, and Luke Williams, who scored ten points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Moffat County's win bumped their record up to 7-10. As for Basalt, they now have a losing record at 8-9.
Moffat County will head out on the road to take on the Skiers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Aspen will be looking to extend their current 13-game winning streak. As for Basalt, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Bears at 7:00 p.m. Rifle is no doubt hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses.
