Wood River is 2-8 against Twin Falls since April of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The Wolverines will welcome the Bruins at 11:00 a.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Twin Falls will face off against a team with plenty of momentum: Wood River extended their winning streak to four on Thursday. The Wolverines came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured an 11-10 W against Jerome. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since April 22, 2024, but that streak is no more.

Amalia Boyle was incredible, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Those two runs gave her a new career-high. Hadley Elsbree was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs.
Wood River kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in 12 consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, after a string of nine wins, Twin Falls' good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell just short of Jerome by a score of 14-12. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Bruins have suffered since May 18, 2024.
Kenzie Hudson was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-5 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Braylin Iverson, who went 2-for-4 with three runs and one stolen base.
Wood River's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-11. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.6 runs over those games. As for Twin Falls, their loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 9-1 and their overall record down to 12-10.
Twin Falls' pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Wood River has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 11.9 hits per game. It's a different story for Twin Falls, though, as they've been averaging 9 hits. Given Wood River's sizable advantage in that area, the Bruins will need to find a way to close that gap.
Wood River might still be hurting after the 17-0 defeat they got from Twin Falls in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Will the Wolverines have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more softball content.
