Baseball Recap: Bossier Triumphs + How To Watch

While Bossier's win against Booker T. Washington-Shreveport wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Bearkats had just enough and edged out the Lions 9-8. With that victory, the Bearkats brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.

Jorge Taylor made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over 4.1 innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Bossier is 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 1-7 otherwise. Taylor was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Bradley Simmons, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Jayson Resendez, who got on base in two of his three plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.

Bossier was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .391. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive matchups.

Bossier's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 3-8. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Booker T. Washington-Shreveport, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-6.
