Charles J. Colgan is a perfect 10-0 against Hylton since May of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. After both having extra time off, the two teams will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 6:00 p.m. Charles J. Colgan knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with ten runs or more in their past five games -- so hopefully Hylton likes a good challenge.
If Charles J. Colgan beats Hylton with 13 runs on Tuesday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two matchups with that exact score. The Sharks put the hurt on Potomac Senior with a sharp 13-1 victory last Thursday. The Sharks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by nine runs or more this season.
Dorsey Grose spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on one hit and racked up ten Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Kayli Lamboy, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Caroline Jurack, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one run.
Meanwhile, Hylton hadn't done well against Forest Park recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way last Thursday. The Bulldogs narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Bruins 7-5. While the Bulldogs didn't have the best season last year (they finished 4-10-3), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.
Alanis Layne made a splash no matter where she played. She pitched seven innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off seven hits. Layne was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with four RBI, two doubles, and one run.
In other batting news, Natalie Wise was excellent, going 1-for-2 with one home run and two runs. Alexandra Newton was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Charles J. Colgan pushed their record up to 5-3 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.7 runs over those games. As for Hylton, their victory bumped their record up to 7-3.
Both Charles J. Colgan and Hylton just can't seem to miss. The Sharks have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 12 hits per game. However, it's not like Hylton struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 5.5 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Charles J. Colgan's way against Hylton when the teams last played back in May of 2024, as Charles J. Colgan made off with a 10-0 win. Will the Sharks repeat their success, or do the Bulldogs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
