It was a good run, but The Holmes County Blue Devils unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-game winning streak on Friday. They fell 29-16 to Bozeman. Holmes County was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Bozeman apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in August of 2019.
Landon Lumpkin punched in a rushing scores. Jameson Bacon was his top target, gaining 86 total yards and a touchdown. On the ground, Colt Serpas rushed for 60 yards.
Bozeman had a senior duo take command as Peyton Gay threw for 207 yards and two touchdowns on only 17 passes and Chance Jenkins gained 106 total yards and two touchdowns.
Holmes County's defeat dropped their record down to 8-2. As for Bozeman, their win was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 10-0.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Holmes County will square off against Destin at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Bozeman is on the road again on Friday and play against Rutherford at 7:00 p.m. on November 3rd. Rutherford will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 423rd, while Bozeman is ranked 200th).
