Given their disadvantage in the MaxPreps national rankings, Woodbine should expect quite the challenge on Friday. They take on Audubon at 7:00 PM. Woodbine aren't expected to win, but seeing as the odds didn't stop them last game, maybe the squad has another upset up their sleeve.
Their game two weeks ago wasn't at all kind to Woodbine, but their most recent game may have softened the blow. They took their contest against Coon Rapids-Bayard last week 42-35.
Meanwhile, Audubon and Exira-EHK -- ranked 82nd and 53rd in the MaxPreps national rankings, respectively -- squared off in a high-profile matchup. Audubon were within striking distance but couldn't close the gap, as they fell 28-34 to Exira-EHK. It was a tough break for Audubon, who improved upon an already decent score from the game before but lost both times.
Woodbine's victory lifted them to 1-2 while Audubon's loss dropped them down to 1-2. We'll find out if Woodbine can add another positive mark to their record or if Audubon can shake off the defeat and take the spring out of Woodbine's step.
