It was a good run, but the Rossville Bulldogs unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell to Rock Creek 51-47. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Rossville has scored all season.
Despite the defeat, Rossville saw an underclassman step up: Cameron Miller almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine rebounds. Miller is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Mason Jones, who scored seven points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Rossville's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-5. As for Rock Creek, they pushed their record up to 12-1 with that victory, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rossville won't have much time to rest: their next game is against the Chargers on February 2nd. Riley County will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Kansas Rankings (they are ranked 209th, while the Mustangs are ranked 19th).
