Basketball Recap: Coahoma Picks Up Tenth Consecutive Victory

Coahoma waltzed into their game on Tuesday with nine straight wins... but they left with ten. They blew past the Denver City Mustangs, posting a 60-26 win. The Bulldogs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 13 contests by 21 points or more this season.

Coahoma was led to victory by Madi Renteria and Baylor Wright. Renteria went 9 for 17 on her way to 24 points and five steals, while Wright went 6 of 14 en route to 22 points in addition to five boards and four steals. Wright's evening made it seven games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Bree Lewis, who posted four points along with seven rebounds and six steals.

Coahoma has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 24-4 record this season. As for Denver City, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-18.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Coahoma and Tornillo will meet in a dog eat dog contest at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Coahoma is facing Tornillo at the right time seeing as Tornillo is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Denver City, they will face off against Presidio at 7:00 p.m. on February 11th. Presidio will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Denver City surely won't give up without a fight.
