Basketball Recap: First Baptist Academy Comes Up Short

First Baptist Academy easily dispatched Allen Academy last Friday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The First Baptist Academy Eagles fell just short of the Providence Classical Paladins by a score of 46-43 on Saturday.

Despite the loss, First Baptist Academy still got an impressive performance from Matthew Levine, who posted 17 points and six rebounds. That's the most points Levine has posted since back in December of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of Nathanael Asare, who put up five points and four steals.

First Baptist Academy now has a losing record at 8-9. As for Providence Classical, they moved to 2-11 with that win, which also ended their 11-game losing streak.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. First Baptist Academy will take on River City Believers Academy in a holiday battle at at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Providence Classical and Northland Christian will compete for holiday cheer at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Northland Christian is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 65 points per game this season.
