On Saturday, the Pinson Valley Indians faced the JAG Jaguars in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Pinson Valley came out on top against JAG by a score of 70-59. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Despite the defeat, JAG had strong showings from JaMicah Adair, who scored 21 points, and Ladarius Givan, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds. Adair is absolutely dominating the point category: he's posted at least 15 every time he's taken the court this season. Cedrickus Williams was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Pinson Valley has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-8 record this season. As for JAG, their loss dropped their record down to 18-2.
Pinson Valley on the road again on Monday and play against Fairfield at 7:00 p.m. on January 15th. One thing working in Fairfield's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last nine contests. As for JAG, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Pike Road at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Pike Road is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.
