The Clear Creek Golddiggers scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They took their contest on the road with ease, bagging a 91-60 win over Denver Academy. With that win, Clear Creek brought their scoring average up to 51.8 points per game.
Collin Hendrickson continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, shooting 4-for-6 from long range and dropping a double-double on 35 points and 20 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Clear Creek's points. Tyler O'Brien was another key contributor, scoring 29 points along with two steals.
Despite the loss, Denver Academy had strong showings from Nolan Monasch, who scored 25 points, and Riley Allen, who scored 22 points. That's the first time this season that Allen scored 15 or more points.
Clear Creek is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 5-4 record this season. As for Denver Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-2.
Clear Creek will head out on the road to challenge SkyView Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. SkyView Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past five games -- so hopefully Clear Creek likes a good challenge. As for Denver Academy, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Cripple Creek-Victor at 3:30 p.m.
