Shy McPhail ran for two touchdowns and
Zach Hayden added two as well as
Hartsville (S.C.) defeated Lee Central (Bishopville, S.C.) 54-0 on Saturday.
After taking the lead on a touchdown run by McPhail in the first quarter, the Red Foxes were up 41-0 at the half.
Hartsville expanded its lead to 48 points entering the fourth quarter. HHS's lone score in the quarter came on a touchdown run by
Brian Rivers.
A 34-point second quarter helped the Red Foxes secure the big victory. Hartsville scored on a kick return touchdown by
Laquan Haigler, a Hayden touchdown run, a touchdown run by Rivers, a McPhail touchdown run and a touchdown run by
Matt Lynch in the quarter.
A 51-14 Hartsville victory was the result when the squads faced off last season.
The defeat comes as a step back for Lee Central, who notched a 26-17 victory over Buford in its previous outing. The loss snapped Lee Central's two-game winning streak. The win brought Hartsville's winning streak to four games.
Lee Central (2-1) will play a non-conference game against Lakewood next week, while Hartsville (4-0) will take on Cheraw also in a non-conference game.
