The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for St. John's Catholic Prep in their matchups with the Cougars: they've now lost three in a row.
St. John's Catholic Prep's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Isabella Wilson, who scored 22 points. Another player making a difference was Cayenne Pigeon, who scored 15 points.
Our Lady of Mount Carmel's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Amya Goodsell led the charge by dropping a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds. Goodsell also posted two blocks for the first time this season. Deja Harry was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with seven assists and five rebounds.
St. John's Catholic Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 9-6. As for Our Lady of Mount Carmel, their victory bumped their record up to 9-11.
