The North Kissimmee Christian Lions had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 28.7 points), and they went ahead and made it eight on Thursday. They came out on top against International Community by a score of 69-62. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
North Kissimmee Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Izaiah Noel led the charge by scoring 21 points along with eight assists and two steals. Noel is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last eight games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Shayne Gabbidon, who scored 14 points along with two steals.
International Community's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Paxton Boaz, who scored 17 points along with five assists and two steals. Another player making a difference was Gavin Philips, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds.
North Kissimmee Christian is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 19-4 record this season. As for International Community, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-13.
North Kissimmee Christian will be playing at home against Liberty Christian Prep at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Liberty Christian Prep has now lost ten straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 28. International Community won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Real Life Christian Academy at 5:30 p.m. on January 19th. Hopefully Real Life Christian Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up seven last Tuesday.
