The Motley County Matadors won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Tuesday. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 63-40 walloping at the hands of Guthrie. Motley County was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Guthrie apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Guthrie to victory, but perhaps none more so than Rodie Sanders, who scored 21 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Sanders has scored all season. Kaleb Green was another key contributor, scoring 19 points.
Motley County's defeat dropped their record down to 7-11. As for Guthrie, their victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-18.
Motley County will head out on the road to challenge Jayton at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Jayton's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last 12 matchups. As for Guthrie, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Patton Springs at 6:15 p.m. Patton Springs is coming into the match with six straight losses on the road, meaning Guthrie will have to defend against a squad hungry for a win.
