Pen Argyl hasn't had much luck against Bangor recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Green Knights will be playing in front of their home fans against the Slaters at 4:00 p.m. Bangor took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Pen Argyl, who comes in off a win.
Pen Argyl made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Moravian Academy, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Green Knights were the clear victors by a 22-4 margin over the Lions on Tuesday. That looming 22-4 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Green Knights yet this season.
Lincoln Kuster made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Kuster was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his six plate appearances. Those runs marked the first that he scored this season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Lucas Lerch, who scored four runs and stole six bases while getting on base in all six of his plate appearances. He has become a key player for Pen Argyl: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 1-2 otherwise. Cayden Vishnesky was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances.
Pen Argyl always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .708. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Bangor fell victim to Wilson Area and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Warriors. Having soared to a lofty 12 runs in the game before, the Slaters' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.
Jacob Labar was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he tossed six innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off five hits.
At the plate, Bangor saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nolan Koza, who went 1-for-3 with one triple.
The win got Pen Argyl back to even at 3-3. As for Bangor, they dropped their record down to 1-4 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Pen Argyl couldn't quite finish off Bangor in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 and fell 7-5. Can the Green Knights avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
