The Tri-West Hendricks Bruins will challenge the Frankfort Hot Dogs at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The last three games Tri-West Hendricks has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
Tri-West Hendricks can't be too worried about heading out to take on Frankfort: they just beat Western Boone at home, who had been dominant on their own field up to that point. The Bruins skirted past the Stars 2-1.

Zack Baute was a major factor no matter where he played. He tossed seven innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Baute was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two doubles and one RBI. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Ethan Frye was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high.
For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Frankfort and Hamilton Heights meet (four straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Saturday. The Hot Dogs never let the Huskies get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory. The Hot Dogs not only won on Saturday, but they posted their biggest win since April 29th (when they won 13-3).
Like Tri-West Hendricks, Frankfort also got a great game from a two-way player: Alex Lopez. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Lopez is becoming a predictor of Frankfort's success: when he allows at most two hits the team is 4-2 (and 9-10 when he doesn't). Lopez was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kelby Santos, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs. Chris Sandoval was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Tri-West Hendricks has been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 14 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.1 runs on average over those games. As for Frankfort, they now have a winning record of 13-12.
Tri-West Hendricks came out on top in a nail-biter against Frankfort in their previous meeting on May 7th, sneaking past 2-1. Do the Bruins have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Hot Dogs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
