Southeastern Local is 1-6 against West Jefferson since April of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Trojans will head out on the road to square off against the Roughriders at 5:15 p.m. Southeastern Local will be looking to extend their current 18-game winning streak.
On Tuesday, Southeastern Local made easy work of Madison Plains and carried off an 11-1 win. The result was nothing new for the Trojans, who have now won 14 matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Reese R Wells made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 21 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
In other batting news, Gabby McNier was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. She continues to improve, besting her previous run total in each of the last three games she's played. Kaylee K Wells was another key player, going 1-for-4 with three runs, one double, and one RBI.
Southeastern Local always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .516. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, West Jefferson posted their closest victory since April 3rd on Saturday. They had just enough and edged out Greenup County 2-1.
Jenna Mannon spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on four hits and racked up 14 Ks.
On the hitting side, West Jefferson saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lacy Dunigan, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
Southeastern Local's record is now 20-2. As for West Jefferson, their record now sits at 17-5.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Monday. Southeastern Local hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.8 home runs per game. However, it's not like West Jefferson struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.9 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Southeastern Local came up short against West Jefferson in their previous matchup back in May of 2025, falling 5-1. Can the Trojans avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
