Reeltown is 2-8 against LaFayette since January of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Reeltown Rebels will be playing at home against the LaFayette Bulldogs at 5:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Friday, Reeltown lost to Horseshoe Bend at home by a decisive 50-34 margin. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Reeltown in their matchups with Horseshoe Bend: they've now lost four in a row.
Despite the defeat, Reeltown had strong showings from London O'Neal, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds, and Chizyiah Riley, who scored nine points along with eight rebounds.
Meanwhile, LaFayette's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They were dealt a 57-28 defeat at the hands of Lanett. While losing is never fun, LaFayette can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 383rd, while Lanett is ranked 105th).
Reeltown's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for LaFayette, their loss dropped their record down to 2-8.
Reeltown came out on top in a nail-biter against LaFayette in their previous matchup back in January of 2023, sneaking past 37-35. Will Reeltown repeat their success, or does LaFayette have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
