Howards Grove took care of business in their home opener. They blew past Manitowoc Lutheran 33-0. Howards Grove was expected to win, but the margin was definitely larger than the state rankings had forecast.
Meanwhile, St. Mary Catholic/Valley Christian had to kick off their season with an away game, and unfortunately wound up with a long bus ride home. They were given a punishing 7-49 loss at the hands of Ozaukee.
Howards Grove's lifted them to 1-0 while St. Mary Catholic/Valley Christian's defeat dropped them down to 0-1. We'll find out if Howards Grove can add another positive mark to their record or if St. Mary Catholic/Valley Christian can shake off the defeat and take the spring out of Howards Grove's step.
