Chavez has gone 8-2 against Poly recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. After both having extra time off, the two teams will shake off the rust and duke it out at 6:00 p.m. Chavez will be strutting in after a victory while Poly will be coming in after a loss.
Chavez had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the nine-run drubbing they dealt Arleta last Friday. The Eagles blew past the Mustangs 12-3. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won five contests by six runs or more so far this season.
Gabby Duran spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on ten hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 13 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Yliana Rodriguez, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Melody Lopez was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base.
Chavez always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .526. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Arleta only posted an OBP of .333.
Meanwhile, Poly came up short against San Fernando last Friday, falling 10-3. The Parrots have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Poly saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was JAZLYN GALLARDO, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI. Another was NATALIA REYES, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one run.
Chavez has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a massive bump to their 7-9 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for Poly, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-8.
Everything went Chavez's way against Poly in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, as Chavez made off with an 8-0 victory. Do the Eagles have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Parrots turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
