Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a  season-high score is even better (just ask Garrard County). Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Frankfort Panthers  a   17-0 shutout  on Thursday. The Golden Lions might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by nine  runs or more this season.
 Emily Hounshell made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She  kept things locked down with   no  earned runs or hits while striking out six over five innings pitched. Hounshell was also stellar in the batter's box,  going 3-for-4 with three  RBI and one  triple.
 In other batting news,  Jazlynn Shelton and  Zoe Jordon did most of the damage at the plate:  Shelton  scored two  runs while going 3-for-4, while  Jordon  scored two  runs while going 3-for-4. Those  three  hits gave  Shelton a new career-high. Another player making a difference was  Bentley Cooper, who  scored a  run while going 2-for-4.
 Garrard County  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .528. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Frankfort only posted  an  OBP of  .176.
Garrard County moved to 7-7 with that  win, which also ended their four-game losing streak. As for Frankfort, their loss dropped their record down to 4-4.
 Coming up, Garrard County will be playing at home against Washington County  at 6:00  p.m.  on Monday. The Golden Lions are on  a three-game streak of home losses, and the Commanders an eight-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck. As for Frankfort, they will challenge Franklin County at 6:00  p.m.  on Tuesday.
