The Laurel Christian Lions and the Sylva Bay Academy Saints squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but sadly the Laurel Christian Lions had to settle for second. They had to suffer through a rough 55-21 loss at the hands of the Saints. Laurel Christian has not had much luck with Sylva Bay Academy recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Sylva Bay Academy found their leader in underclassman Cash Pickel, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds and two blocks. Brody Boyd was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Laurel Christian's loss dropped their record down to 9-17. As for Sylva Bay Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won 16 of their last 19 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 19-7 record this season.
