The St. Paul's Crusaders will head out on the road to challenge the St. Mary's Saints at 5:45 p.m. on Wednesday. St. Paul's is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.
St. Paul's pushed their score all the way to 61 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a hard 79-61 fall against Severn School. While losing is never fun, St. Paul's can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 120th, while Severn School is ranked 29th).
St. Mary's can finally bid farewell to their ten-game losing streak dating back to last season thanks to their game on Friday. They walked away with a 64-57 victory over Chapelgate Christian Academy. The victory was just what St. Mary's needed coming off of a 98-31 loss in their prior matchup.
St. Paul's now has a losing record at 3-4. As for St. Mary's, their win ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-9.
Things could have been worse for St. Paul's, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 59-44 loss to St. Mary's in their previous matchup back in January of 2023. Can St. Paul's avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
