Yazoo City stacked a 12th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Wednesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Greenville 54-24 on the road. The success was a return to things as normal for Yazoo City, who in their previous outing suffered a shocking 49-38 upset defeat to the Tigers.
Meanwhile, it was close, but on Friday Holmes County Central sidestepped the Wolves for a 37-35 victory. The victory was all the more spectacular given Holmes County Central's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 132nd, while the Wolves are ranked 17th).
Yazoo City's win bumped their record up to 23-4. As for Holmes County Central, their win bumped their record up to 5-17.
Yazoo City strolled past the Jaguars when the teams last played last Wednesday by a score of 57-42. Will Yazoo City repeat their success, or do the Jaguars have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
