Merrill came tearing into Saturday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 19.7 points), and they left with even more momentum. They took down the Wausau East Lumberjacks 31-14. For the Bluejays, this counts as revenge for the 12-7 win the Lumberjacks walked away with the last time they faced one another back in October of 2024.
Iain Stahel and Henry Maahs certainly did their best on Saturday to avoid the loss. Stahel rushed for 119 yards and one touchdown on only 15 carries, while Maahs picked up 85 receiving yards and one score. Stahel got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run that went for an incredible 74 yards.
Merrill's record now sits at 5-2. As for Wausau East, they dropped their record down to 2-5 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.
