Softball Game Preview: Estrella Foothills Wolves vs. Westview Knights

For the second straight game, Estrella Foothills will face off against Westview. The Wolves will be playing at home against the Knights at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Estrella Foothills has given up an average of 16.3 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Estrella Foothills is headed into Thursday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Tuesday. They fell 11-8 to Westview.

Ilse Penaloza Leyva put in work while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching five innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off four hits. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, Geneviecia O'Shea made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Jaedene Cruz, who scored two runs while going 1-for-4.

Estrella Foothills' loss dropped their record down to 2-16. As for Westview, the win snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 4-6 record.
