Goldwater's game  last Wednesday was a  loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them  on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Desert Sunrise Golden Hawks as the Goldwater Bulldogs made off with  a  15-0 victory. The  win was some much needed relief for the Bulldogs as it spelled an end to their eight-game losing streak dating back to last season.
 Micaela De La Torre and  Miley Zapata made a big impact no matter where they played. On the mound,  De La Torre   struck out eight batters over  three innings while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits (and only one walk). Meanwhile,  Zapata   pitched two innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   one  hit. Furthermore,  De La Torre didn't allow a single  earned run, the first time  she has blanked an opponent since back in March of 2024. At the plate,  De La Torre  scored a  run and  stole a base while  getting on base  in three of her four plate appearances, while  Zapata  scored three  runs and  stole a base while going 2-for-2.

 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Johanna Hampton, who  went a perfect 3-for-3 with one  home run, three  runs,  and three  RBI. Those  three  RBI gave  her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of  Avrie White, who  scored two  runs and  stole  Two bases. while going 3-for-3.
 Goldwater  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .839. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Desert Sunrise only posted  an  OBP of  .312.
The  victory  got Goldwater back to even at 1-1. As for Desert Sunrise,  this is the second loss in a row for them and  nudges their season record down to 0-2.
 Goldwater has already played their next game,  a  15-7  defeat against Marcos de Niza on the 28th. As for Desert Sunrise, they will square off against Crismon at 3:45  p.m.  on Tuesday.
