Softball Recap: Hibbing Triumphs

While Hibbing's victory against Denfeld wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Bluejackets sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 11-10 win over the Hunters on Thursday. The Bluejackets haven't had any issues with the Hunters recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Hibbing got a massive performance out of Kori McCormick, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That home run marked the first that McCormick has launched this season. Emma McDowell was another key player, going 2-for-4 with four runs, two stolen bases, and one RBI.

Hibbing was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .405. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .308 or higher in three consecutive games.

Hibbing now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Denfeld, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-9.

Hibbing didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, an 11-1 loss against Greenway/Nashwauk-Keewatin on the 9th. As for Denfeld, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 15-0 defeat against Rock Ridge co-op [Eveleth-Gilbert/Virginia] on the 8th.
