The Anthony Wildcats's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their seventh straight loss. They fell just short of McCamey by a score of 51-48. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Anthony of the 52-46 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January.
When it comes to explaining why Anthony lost, one person who can't be blamed is Julie Cuellar. Despite the final result, she scored 25 points. That was a full 52.1% of Anthony's points, marking the 25th time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Aissa Castillo was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Anthony has traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-16 record this season. As for McCamey, their victory ended a 13-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-17.
Anthony does not have any more games scheduled as of now. McCamey also has no future games currently scheduled.
