Maple Hill came tearing into  Thursday's  contest with three straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Watervliet Cannoneers by a score of  3-1. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won  3-1  back in September.
 Maple Hill had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 23-25, 25-20, 25-17,  25-12.
  Sophia Rogers and  Jaelyn Maldonado certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss.  Rogers  had 25 assists and 19  digs, while  Maldonado  had 19  digs and one  assist. Rogers is  on a roll when it comes to  assists, as she's  now  posted 13 or more in each of the last 12 games she's  played.
Maple Hill's win bumped their record up to 19-5-1. As for Watervliet, they moved to 14-3 with that  defeat, which also ended their nine-match winning streak.
 Looking ahead, Maple Hill will take on Cornwall Central in a tournament  on Saturday. As for Watervliet, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next  matchup,  a  3-0  victory against Waterford-Halfmoon on the 17th.
