It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Crittenden County Rockets had no problem doing just that on Friday. They managed a 24-20 victory over Todd County Central. Winning may never get old, but Crittenden County sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.
Todd County Central's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performance. Perhaps the best among them was Miles Reding, who rushed for 22 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 115 yards and a touchdown.
Crittenden County pushed their record up to 7-5 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 1-10 Caldwell County and 1-10 Ohio County (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 30.5% over those games). As for Todd County Central, they now have a losing record at 5-6.
Crittenden County will head out on the road to face off against Owensboro Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Owensboro Catholic's favor is that they have now posted big point totals every time they've taken the field this season. Todd County Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
