The regular season was a success, but the real challenge begins now, in the postseason. Festus will square off against DeSoto at 7:00 PM on Friday. Festus are expected to win -- but not by much -- so they will need to come into the match prepared for a fight.
Last Thursday, Festus and Troy-Buchanan were almost perfectly matched up, but Festus suffered an agonizing 38-39 defeat. This makes it the second defeat in a row for Festus.
As for DeSoto, they had a rough outing against Ste. Genevieve two weeks ago, but a little bit of home cooking seems to have fixed things right up. DeSoto snuck past Potosi with a 7-3 win.
DeSoto's victory lifted them to 5-4 while Festus's loss dropped them down to 5-4. We'll find out if DeSoto can add another positive mark to their record or if Festus can shake off the loss and take the spring out of DeSoto's step.
