The Gibbon Buffaloes's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. The New Year welcomed they with a 64-17 whooping from Shelton. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Gibbon in their matchups with Shelton: they've now lost four in a row.
Gibbon lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Brooke Sell, who scored seven points. The team also got some help courtesy of Carla Murillo-Corona, who scored seven points.
Gibbon's defeat dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Shelton, their win bumped their record up to 7-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Gibbon will take on Ord at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Ord presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Gibbon in Nebraska (Ord is ranked 94th, while Gibbon is ranked 264th). As for Shelton, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Deshler at 6:00 p.m. Deshler is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
