Meanwhile, you can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely California's strategy against Geibel Catholic on Tuesday. California blew past Geibel Catholic 72-46. The win was just what California needed coming off of a 58-38 defeat in their prior game.
Vincent Manzella continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 23 points. He is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Noah Neil, who scored 16 points.
Monessen's victory bumped their record up to 16-3. As for California, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a massive bump to their 7-14 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Monessen against California in their previous meeting back in January as the squad secured a 76-34 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Monessen since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
