Holgate is a perfect 3-0 against Edon since April of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Tigers will face off against the Bombers at 5:00 p.m.
Holgate couldn't beat Montpelier on Tuesday even though they stacked four runs on them in the second inning. The Tigers fell 8-5 to the Locomotives. The Tigers have struggled against the Locomotives recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost meeting.
WIEAND STALNAKER made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI. Matt Healy also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Edon). They put the hurt on Stryker with a sharp 25-3 victory on Tuesday. The Bombers haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.
Corbin Chrisman made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Edon is undefeated when Chrisman posts two or more runs, but 4-5 otherwise.
In other batting news, Braedyn Wehrle was a standout: he went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Christian Owens was another key player, going 3-for-5 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple.
Edon always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .705. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive games.
Holgate's loss dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Edon, their record now sits at 7-5.
Holgate was able to grind out a solid victory over Edon in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, winning 7-3. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
