Hutchison is 1-9 against Valdez since January of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Hutchison Hawks have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome the Valdez Buccaneers at 7:30 p.m. on February 16th. Hutchison has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
Last Thursday, Hutchison got the win against Nunamiut by a conclusive 54-30. Hutchison pushed the score to 45-20 by the end of the third, a deficit Nunamiut cut but never quite recovered from.
Meanwhile, after a string of 11 wins, Valdez's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They fell 50-37 to Nome-Beltz. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Valdez has scored all season.
Hutchison's win bumped their record up to 4-11. As for Valdez, their defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 15-3.
Hutchison took a serious blow against Valdez in their previous meeting back in January, falling 53-20. Can Hutchison avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
