Wes Burford Delivers Best Effort of Season
Oakdale was led to victory by Wes Burford, who turned in his biggest game of the season on Friday. Burford rushed for 381 yards and six touchdowns while picking up 14.7 yards per carry, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. That high mark didn't come from nowhere: he has now rushed for 143 or more in the last seven games he's played dating back to last season.

On Friday, Patterson had to settle for second even though Max Medina put up the best numbers he has all season. Medina wasn't messing around, throwing for 338 yards and three touchdowns while completing 72.7% of his passes, and also punching in a touchdown on the ground. The contest was his third straight with three or more passing touchdowns dating back to last season.
This season, Medina has thrown 22 touchdowns while averaging 273.5 passing yards per game. That doesn't tell the whole story though: at this point last year, he had two rushing touchdowns. This year he is already up to four.

Carter Meeks produced his most outstanding game to date while leading Central Catholic to the win on Friday. His longest rush was for an impressive 60 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.
Central Catholic now has a winning record of 4-3. Meeks and Central Catholic will be playing at home against Oakdale at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
