The Douglass Red Devils lost against the Trezevant Bears back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Douglass received a tough blow as they fell 62-46 to the Bears. Douglass has not had much luck with the Bears recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Leading Trezevant to victory were CIARA THOMAS and SHELBY GRAY. THOMAS scored eight points along with 16 rebounds and five blocks, while GRAY dropped a double-double on 19 points and 11 rebounds. GRAY is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 19 or more in the last six games she's played. Another player making a difference was MARISSA WILLIAMS, who scored ten points along with two steals.
Douglass' defeat dropped their record down to 8-5. As for Trezevant, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 13-7.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing KIPP Collegiate the next time they take the court. Douglass will head out to face the phoenix at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, while the Bears will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
