The Buckeye Bucks's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their sixth straight loss. They were dealt a 59-30 loss at the hands of Lakewood. Buckeye has struggled against Lakewood recently, as their matchup on Saturday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Ruby Hudak and Tami Chovancova certainly did their best on Saturday to try and avoid the loss. Hudak scored 14 points, while Chovancova scored six points along with nine rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Hudak has scored all season.
Buckeye's defeat was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-17. As for Lakewood, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-9.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Buckeye will take on Central Christian at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. Central Christian will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak. As for Lakewood, they will head out on the road to challenge Washington at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Washington has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
