North Davidson (Lexington, N.C.) put up 21 points in the fourth quarter in Saturday's game to seal their 45-14 victory over Reagan (Pfafftown, N.C.).
After taking the lead on a
Chase Mitchell touchdown pass to
Eli Moore in the first quarter, the Knights led 17-7 at the half.
Each side put up seven points during the third quarter, and the fourth quarter began with the margin still at 10.
The loss snapped the Raiders' 4-game winning streak.
Mitchell was the top performer for North Davidson. The senior quarterback threw three touchdowns.
Led by
Shy Tuttle, ND went into the matchup giving up only 12.3 points per game.
Last season's game between the teams resulted in a 24-10 win for the Lexington school.
The defeat comes as a step back for Reagan, which notched a 24-19 victory over West Forsyth in its previous outing.
North Davidson (8-0) goes up against West Forsyth in a 4A Central Piedmont game matchup next week, while Reagan (6-2) locks horns with R.J. Reynolds also in a 4A Central Piedmont game.
